Many of our inland lakes in south eastern Wisconsin have
solid ice ranging from 8-18”. The bite has been fantastic fishing smaller deep
Kettle Lakes in the Whitewater area for crappies, gills and perch.
Larger lakes like Delavan and Geneva have had a good shallow
water bite for crappies and gills along with a deep water bite for suspended
crappie and bottom dwelling perch.
The lake trout bite on Geneva has been excellent with ice
being safe in many key laker haunting areas.
Ice fishing the harbor areas in Milwaukee and Racine has
yielded some great catches of Steelhead and Brown Trout jigging and running my
Automatic Fisherman’s tipped with spawn and minnows.
Boat fishing within the harbor areas has been good in
Milwaukee casting and jigging catching lake trout, brown trout and steelhead.
Drift fishing up river has also been producing a solid bite.
The spring walleye run is still on hold with the Rock River
still being locked up with ice. As soon as the river opens the bite will be
fast and furious I am sure!
Now is the time for some great spring fishing! Give Capt.
John a call or email to book your trip at such an opportune time……..time is of
the essence so don’t wait!
